What is Azeroth Survivors?
Azeroth Survivors is Aethus’s single-player survival roguelike with a familiar World of Warcraft setting. The original launch announcement compares it with Vampire Survivors and Megabonk and describes an alpha game with progression between attempts. This is an independent companion: you can find the original player above, explore class references and plan what to learn on your next run.
In this guide, a “run” means one attempt; progression means the things you carry between attempts. A useful starting goal is to understand a class and the choices offered by your current client. You do not need a claimed perfect build before trying the game. Our beginner’s guide gives that first attempt a practical structure.
How to start your first run
- Open the original player. Use “Load original game” above, or follow Aethus’s game website directly. The embedded Azeroth Survivors player connects to the creator’s host when you click. Allow its initial loading to finish.
- Read the client in front of you. Note its version, selected class, race, map and mode before starting. The cover image and class numbers here describe an earlier selector, so they may differ from a later build.
- Learn the controls. The v0.91.0 help showed WASD or both mouse buttons for movement, 1/2/3 for card selection, R to reroll and Enter to play. Check the current prompts after updates.
- Keep one useful observation. Record the choices offered, what you selected and what ended the attempt. Test one change next time rather than guessing from the final survival time alone.
Choosing an Azeroth Survivors class
The nine cards above provide a starting reference for Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Warlock and Druid. Their spells and health were read from the original v0.91.0 selector on October 15, 2026. Equipment was empty and the talent counter showed 0/51. Selected races are recorded in the full class reference, alongside those conditions.
Use these details to recognize a class’s opening, rather than choosing solely by the largest health number. The portraits are guide illustrations, not evidence of class strength or race restrictions. There are longer Warrior notes, Mage notes and Warlock notes; the remaining cards lead to their roster entries. A shorter entry does not mean a weaker class.
Permanent gear and Talent XP
The Azeroth Survivors launch announcement describes permanent items from bosses and Talent XP earned through runs to advance your class. Check your current client for the actual rewards, requirements and available talents; this homepage does not promise a fixed drop rate or an optimal spending route.
When comparing attempts, write down the equipment and talent investment you started with. If one run begins with more progression, a better result cannot be attributed to class choice alone. Similarly, keep a fresh-start comparison separate from a developed character’s results. The inspected selector includes Collection, Drop Tables, Codex and Talents tabs. Consult those references in your version, and keep any change in starting conditions with your notes.
Build around the problem ending your run
For an Azeroth Survivors build, start with the descriptions on the cards you are actually offered. Identify the immediate problem: losing space, taking repeated contact damage or failing to finish a boss. Then compare an available choice that might address it with your usual pick. This is a way to investigate a build, not a verified upgrade order or a guarantee that a particular combination works.
Keep the upgrade sequence as well as the outcome. Different offers, equipment and decisions can all change a run. If you test a movement or defensive option, record what happened when you used it; a promising tooltip is not a result. Avoid assuming an ability behaves exactly as it does in retail or Classic WoW just because the name is familiar.
Which class is best? Read the evidence first
Our Azeroth Survivors tier list currently leaves all nine classes unranked. We have dated selector observations and a few community impressions, but no controlled combat dataset that supports an S-to-D ranking. “Unranked” describes the evidence available, not a judgment that the classes are equally strong or weak.
A useful recommendation needs a goal, a version and repeatable conditions. Opening survival, wave handling, boss completion and consistency are different outcomes. Before generalizing from one good attempt, keep failed runs too and explain which starting conditions or upgrade offers differed. The comparison method sets out what would make a future ranking defensible.
Keep a run notebook you can reuse
Use the local run notebook for your Azeroth Survivors attempts. You can record class, version, map, progression, upgrades and results. It saves one current note in this browser and offers “Copy as text.” Copy a completed record into a separate file before replacing it. Clearing browser site data can remove the note.
These are your written observations, not the game’s save file. The notebook does not upload records, synchronize devices or create a shared leaderboard. For a useful next attempt, finish the note with one question you want to answer. Recording an uncertain result is more useful than filling gaps with a remembered build that you cannot reproduce.
If the browser game will not load
If Azeroth Survivors will not start, check the message shown by the original player. On October 16, 2026, the creator’s page displayed WebGPU browser guidance and a Windows download option. A loading problem may concern browser graphics support, a download or the host itself; a blank frame alone does not identify the cause.
Try opening the original directly in an up-to-date desktop Chrome, then keep the exact error message if it fails again. The launch thread’s HTTP 429 notice describes a past high-demand incident, not a confirmed outage now. For current release and download information, use the creator’s page or linked community Discord. We do not mirror installers.
Before you play
Is this the official game website?
No. Azerothsurvivors.cc is an independent guide. Aethus’s original game runs at wow.aethus.pl; the player above loads that host after your click. We are not affiliated with the creator or Blizzard Entertainment.
Does Azeroth Survivors work on mobile?
Mobile reports in the launch discussion are mixed. We have not verified reliable mobile play. Start with the desktop browser guidance above; a responsive guide page does not establish that the embedded game supports every device.
Will an existing game save appear in the embed?
We have not verified save parity between embedded play and visiting the original directly. If you already play on the original site, return there for continuity. Browser storage rules can differ between those contexts.
Sources, versions and corrections
Our Azeroth Survivors guide draws on the creator’s website, the linked launch discussion and our dated selector inspection. Learning prompts are editorial suggestions. Read how we label evidence and the source register to check a claim’s scope. A later client can change without updating an older observation; we do not present these notes as a live patch feed.
